Dustin Meyer

Job Title

AFP President

What attracted you to AFP?
I've been attending AFP - Edmonton events since 2008 and joined the Board in 2012. I was drawn to the high quality events and phenomenal speakers. Treasury groups are often pretty small and so I also enjoyed the ability to network with other Finance professionals.

What related experience do you have?
My experience is actually spread across several diverse areas. Early in my working years, I spent time learning the ins and outs of manufacturing before getting involved in industrial and commercial construction. After I completed my Bachelors degree, I spent about a decade in Finance focusing on cash management, leasing, debt, and treasury operations. I've since obtained an MBA and now spend more time with students than forecasts but still love Finance.

What is an interesting fact about you?
I think it is well known that I love sushi, but not everyone is aware that I am one a few lucky individuals to possess my own chopstick locker. Hidden away in the mountains of Jasper National Park, there is an amazing little sushi restaurant that rivals anything I've tried around the world called Oka Sushi. Since 2009, they've allowed me and 59 other people to rent a special little locker to store our custom chopsticks and the best part is that the annual fee gets donated to a local Jasper Charity!
