AFPC-Edmonton is pleased to feature Scott Arnold, Sustainability Officer of Canadian Oil Sands Limited. Canadian Oil Sands Limited is the largest owner in the Syncrude oil sands joint venture with a 36.74% interest.  Syncrude has a current productive capacity of 350,000 barrels per day of sweet synthetic crude oil.  Canadian Oil Sands Trust is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange with a market capitalization of approximately $13 billion.

Scott will provide a candid view of the role of the oil sands within the broader energy landscape and how the industry is meeting the challenge of balancing economic opportunity with environmental responsibility.

 

Prior to his current position Scott was Assistant Treasurer of Canadian Oil Sands and prior thereto was employed with Deloitte & Touche, LLP as Senior Manager, Financial Advisory Services.  Scott holds Chartered Accountant and Chartered Business Valuator designations and an MBA specializing in Global Energy Management and Sustainability from the

University of Calgary .
