A Chartered Accountant since 1993, Richard joined BioWare in 2000 where, during his tenure as BioWare’s Director of Finance, BioWare grew from a studio of 70 developers to a multi-studio developer with 600 employees when acquired by Electronic Arts in 2008. Currently, Richard and his team support multiple aspects of BioWare’s business operations, primarily to studio leadership in developing and executing key business and strategic initiatives. As a member of BioWare’s senior leadership team, Richard also helps team managers understand and resolve key business, finance, and legal issues that arise.
BioWare is respected industry-wide for its high quality, emotionally engaging and rich, deep cinematic interactive video games such as the Baldur’s Gate series, Neverwinter Nights, MDK2, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire, Mass Effect and Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, and the recently released Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 2. BioWare has numerous highly anticipated upcoming titles including the final episode in the Mass Effect trilogy, Mass Effect 3, and Star Wars: The Old Republic, a story-rich massively multiplayer online title in development at BioWare Austin, in collaboration with partner LucasArts.
