AFPC Edmonton is pleased to present Ben Currie to discuss Business Etiquette in the Digital Age.  Is it okay to friend your boss? Can an e-mail mistake jeopardize your career? There are many gray areas when it comes to communicating in the digital age. This presentation provides guidelines on digital protocols in the workplace, including LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter, as well as traditional communication tools such as e-mail. Find out what executives say about etiquette in the workplace, and learn how to tend to your network in just five minutes a day.

 

Ben Currie is the Branch Manager for OfficeTeam and Robert Half, Edmonton. His area of responsibility includes managing the daily operations for the Professional Staffing Services divisions which include OfficeTeam, Accountemps, and Robert Half Finance and Accounting.

 

Ben has spent almost 10 years of his professional life in the recruitment industry and has experience in many areas including finance, accounting, engineering, administration and skilled trades. He is currently the President-Elect for the Edmonton chapter of ACSESS (Association of Canadian Search, Employment and Staffing Services). Ben is also on the Advisory Committee for the Office Assistant Program at MacEwan University.

 

Ben immerses himself in employment trends as they relate to Canada, Alberta, Edmonton and area.  In collaboration with the Edmonton Branch, Ben is proud to be a part of a company that sees great success in identifying, evaluating, and aligning of candidates and companies.

 

Prior to joining the organization, Ben experienced roles in staffing as well as corporate recruitment which included the opportunity to work in the Oilsands, Calgary, and Dublin, Ireland.
